Employee engagement is the glue that holds an organization’s workforce together. Employees who are actively engaged show passion in what they do, go beyond the extra-mile and, thus, help the organization to push beyond mediocrity. It is of key importance that employee engagement is accurately assessed and monitored so that specific actions can be planned to enhance engagement. At the same time, it is just as necessary to identify the degree of employees who are actively dis-engaged. This helps organizations to investigate problem areas that hinder engagement, and to take corrective action.
