Employee engagement is the glue that holds an organization’s workforce together. Employees who are actively engaged show passion for what they do, go beyond the extra mile, and, thus, help the organization push beyond mediocrity. It is of key importance that employee engagement is accurately assessed and monitored so that specific actions can be planned to enhance engagement. At the same time, it is just as necessary to identify the percentage of employees who are actively disengaged. This helps organizations investigate problem areas that hinder engagement and take corrective action.
